Probiotic nasal spray may speed up pneumonia recovery in toddlers
NCT ID NCT07399717
First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding probiotic nasal spray and oral probiotics to standard pneumonia treatment helps children aged 6 to 36 months recover faster. About 330 hospitalized children will be split into three groups: one gets a placebo, one gets a probiotic nasal spray, and one gets both the nasal spray and an oral probiotic. Researchers will track how quickly symptoms like fever and cough go away, and whether probiotics reduce the chance of symptoms returning after discharge.
