Gut bugs for better lungs? probiotic trial aims to ease COPD breathing
NCT ID NCT07339280
Summary
This study is testing whether a daily probiotic supplement can help people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) breathe more easily and feel better. For 16 weeks, 60 adults with stable COPD will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill, while continuing their usual treatments. Researchers will check if the supplement reduces shortness of breath, improves lung function, and lowers body-wide inflammation.
