Gut bacteria trial aims to tame joint pain

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether an oral probiotic called R-2487 is safe for people with rheumatoid arthritis. About 73 adults with active arthritis will take the probiotic by mouth. Researchers will monitor side effects and check if the treatment reduces joint swelling and inflammation.
