Could probiotic toothpaste help control diabetes?

NCT ID NCT07069166

Summary

This study is testing whether a special probiotic-based toothpaste and mouthwash can help improve gum health and blood sugar control in people who have both type 2 diabetes and gum disease. Forty adult participants will receive standard gum cleaning and then use either the probiotic products or a standard antiseptic mouthwash for comparison. Researchers will check participants' gum health and blood sugar levels over six months to see if the probiotic products offer any extra benefits.
