NCT ID NCT03961347
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 08, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a daily probiotic supplement can help preserve the body's ability to produce insulin in adults with Type 1 diabetes. Researchers are giving 46 participants either the probiotic or a placebo for 24 weeks to see if it's safe and if it affects the immune system and gut health. The goal is to see if improving gut bacteria can help protect the insulin-producing cells that are attacked in this condition.
