Could a simple probiotic stop the cycle of painful UTIs?
NCT ID NCT07234227
Summary
This study is testing whether a vaginal probiotic can help prevent recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women. Researchers will give 156 women with frequent UTIs a 3-month course of a commercially available probiotic containing 'good' bacteria called Lactobacillus crispatus. The study will check if the probiotic successfully establishes these protective bacteria in the body and if women find the treatment easy to use.
