Gut bug pill aims to tame debilitating diarrhea after major cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07422103
Summary
This study is testing whether a probiotic supplement called Clostridium butyricum CBM588 can help reduce diarrhea and other stomach problems after major pancreas surgery for cancer. About 158 patients will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill for three months after leaving the hospital. Researchers will track bowel movements, quality of life, and long-term cancer outcomes to see if the supplement helps.
