First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily probiotic supplement called Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LM1001 can improve muscle strength in older adults with age-related muscle weakness. Researchers will give 100 people aged 50-84 either the probiotic or a placebo for 12 weeks and measure changes in leg strength, muscle mass, and physical performance. The goal is to see if targeting the gut-muscle connection can help ease the symptoms of muscle decline.
