Friendly bacteria fights antibiotic belly aches in children
NCT ID NCT05840588
Summary
This study tested whether a specific probiotic (Bifidobacterium breve PRL2020) could help reduce stomach problems like diarrhea, cramps, and bloating in children aged 3-12 who were taking common antibiotics (amoxicillin) for infections. Researchers wanted to see if this 'friendly' bacteria could protect the gut and ease symptoms that often come with antibiotic treatment. They compared children who took the probiotic with those who did not.
