Gut bugs vs. fatty liver: can a probiotic pill help?

NCT ID NCT07193927

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific mix of probiotic supplements can improve liver health in people with a common type of fatty liver disease linked to being overweight. For 6 months, 60 participants will take either the probiotic or a placebo pill daily. Researchers will use liver scans and blood tests to see if the probiotic reduces liver fat and stiffness, and improves related health markers like cholesterol and blood sugar.
