NCT ID NCT07585994

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether taking a specific probiotic (Desulfovibrio piger) for 4 weeks can lower inflammation and help preserve the body's ability to make insulin in adults who have had type 1 diabetes for more than 5 years. Twenty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the probiotic or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach can improve immune and metabolic health, not to cure the disease.
