Summary
This study tested whether taking a probiotic called Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis Bi66 every day for 8 months can improve bowel function in healthy adults who have fewer than 5 bowel movements per week. 117 participants took either the probiotic or a placebo and recorded their bowel habits and stool consistency. The researchers also checked changes in gut bacteria and other health markers.
