First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested a therapy using special prism glasses (prism adaptation therapy) to see if it can reduce pain and improve movement in people with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) type I, a condition that causes severe, long-lasting pain often after an injury. The therapy aims to retrain the brain's attention and perception, potentially easing pain without medication. The study involved 54 adults with CRPS and measured pain levels and joint movement before and after treatment.
