Chilling after cardiac arrest: could cooling boost survival?
NCT ID NCT06025123
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests if cooling people quickly after a cardiac arrest (when the heart stops) can help them survive with full brain function. About 1,022 adults aged 18-79 who have a shockable heart rhythm will be included. Half will get rapid cooling through the nose by emergency workers, followed by hospital cooling, while the other half gets standard care. The main goal is to see if more people in the cooling group survive with no or minimal brain damage at 90 days.
