Own blood used to patch spinal leak, ease debilitating headaches

NCT ID NCT06790758

Summary

This study tested whether an injection made from a patient's own processed blood could effectively treat severe headaches that sometimes occur after spinal anesthesia or epidurals. The injection was delivered to the spine using a special catheter, and doctors used an eye ultrasound to guide the treatment. The goal was to see if this approach could relieve headache pain and reduce the need for bed rest.
