Drug trial aims to stop painful urination crisis after prostate tests

NCT ID NCT07276919

Summary

This study tests whether taking Tamsulosin (a common prostate medication) before and after a prostate biopsy can prevent painful urination problems. Researchers will compare 1,844 men who take the medication to those who don't to see if it reduces the risk of being unable to urinate after the procedure. The goal is to make prostate biopsies safer and more comfortable for men who need this important cancer screening test.
