Common prostate pill may prevent Post-Surgery pee problems
NCT ID NCT05657990
Summary
This study is testing if taking the medication Tamsulosin (Flomax) for a week before chest cancer surgery can help older men avoid a common and uncomfortable problem called post-operative urinary retention (POUR). POUR makes it hard to urinate after surgery, leading to infections, discomfort, and longer hospital stays. Researchers will give the drug to men over 55 and measure how well they can urinate on their own after their operation.
