New strategy aims to stop nut allergies before they start

NCT ID NCT04801823

Summary

This study tested if introducing tree nuts early to infants who are already allergic to peanuts can prevent them from developing additional nut allergies. It compared a supervised hospital introduction of four nuts followed by home introduction of others against the standard care of only home introduction. The goal was to see which method was safer and more effective at reducing the risk of tree nut allergy by 18 months of age.
