Simple fluoride gel could shield cancer Patients' teeth from radiation damage

NCT ID NCT05403125

Summary

This study tested whether a simple, professionally applied fluoride gel could prevent severe tooth decay in head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. About 60 patients were enrolled to see if applying the gel before and after radiation could protect their teeth. The goal was to find a safe, easy, and affordable way to prevent a common and devastating side effect of cancer treatment.
