First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a special wearable device that watches newborns' heart rate and breathing during the first few days of life. The goal is to catch early warning signs of sudden unexpected postnatal collapse (SUPC) before it happens. About 5,000 healthy newborns will wear the device to see if it can detect problems between routine checkups.
