Scientists probe why diabetes tech hurts skin, seek gentler solutions

NCT ID NCT06856954

Summary

This study aims to understand why insulin pumps and glucose monitors often cause skin irritation, rashes, or lumps in people with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will use non-invasive scans to measure skin health and blood flow at device attachment sites in 150 participants. The goal is to find better materials and care routines to prevent these skin problems, helping people use their diabetes technology more comfortably and effectively.
