First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether a gradual decrease (taper) of vancomycin can prevent repeat C. diff infections as well as the standard 10-day fidaxomicin treatment. About 500 adults with a first or second C. diff infection will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The main goal is to see how many people have another infection within 56 days.
