New approach aims to stop Post-Surgery pain spike
NCT ID NCT07299877
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent a sudden, severe increase in pain that can happen when numbing medication wears off after arm surgery. Researchers will test two common drugs, dexamethasone and dexmedetomidine, given alongside the numbing injection to see if they can reduce or delay this 'rebound pain.' The trial will involve 75 adults having planned arm surgery and will measure pain levels, sleep quality, and patient satisfaction.
