Race to stop premature births: stitch vs. gel trial
NCT ID NCT06463652
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to prevent early (preterm) birth in pregnant women who have a short cervix, which is a known risk factor. It will compare two approaches: using a vaginal progesterone gel alone versus using the gel plus a cervical cerclage (a small stitch placed around the cervix). About 328 women will be randomly assigned to receive one of these treatments to see which one helps pregnancies last longer.
