First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving two medications together (oxytocin and misoprostol) is better than oxytocin alone at preventing severe bleeding after a vaginal birth. The trial included over 1,700 women giving birth between 36 and 42 weeks. The study was stopped early, but the goal was to find a safer way to protect new mothers.
