First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether taking N-Acetyl cysteine (NAC) by mouth is as good as or better than a standard rectal anti-inflammatory drug (diclofenac) for preventing pancreatitis after an ERCP, a procedure to examine the bile ducts. 46 adults at risk were enrolled. The main goal was to see who developed pancreatitis and to measure inflammation markers in the blood.
