NCT ID NCT07370987

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a short course of radiation before pancreatic surgery can prevent a serious complication called pancreatic fistula, where digestive fluid leaks from the pancreas. About 50 adults aged 45 and older who are at high risk due to being overweight and having a small pancreatic duct will receive two doses of radiation before their surgery. The main goal is to see if this approach reduces the number of patients who develop a moderate to severe fistula within 90 days after the operation.
