ER visit could be your Wake-Up call: new study tests health coaching on the spot
NCT ID NCT05680519
First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a brief, supportive conversation in the emergency department can help adults change risky behaviors like smoking, poor diet, or lack of exercise. Researchers enrolled 150 semi-urgent or non-urgent patients and measured how many agreed to join and stuck with the program. The goal was to see if this approach is practical, not yet to prove it prevents disease.
