New mouthwash aims to stop painful side effect of promising cancer treatment

Summary
This study is testing if a steroid mouthwash can prevent painful mouth sores, a common side effect of the cancer drug Dato-DXd. It will enroll about 100 adults with advanced breast or lung cancer who are starting treatment with Dato-DXd. The main goal is to see how many patients develop significant mouth sores while using the preventive mouthwash.
