Summary

This study looks at whether teaching mothers about nutritious local foods can prevent malnutrition in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) in northern Nigeria. Researchers will enroll 148 children aged 6 to 18 months and compare their growth and diet to those receiving standard care. The goal is to find simple, community-based ways to help these children grow better.
