Summary
This study aims to see if giving the medication lorazepam early can prevent delirium (severe confusion) in critically ill patients who are at high risk. It focuses on patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) who show signs of heavy alcohol use. Researchers will give the drug preventively to some patients and compare their outcomes to others who receive standard care.
