Summary

This large hospital-based study aims to find the best antibiotic approach to prevent serious infections after open-heart surgery. Researchers will compare using one versus two antibiotics, and short versus longer antibiotic courses, across 38,000 patients. The goal is to determine which method most effectively prevents surgical infections while minimizing antibiotic side effects.
