Ear shot may shield cancer patients from Chemo-Induced deafness

Summary
This study tests whether injecting a medicine called sodium thiosulfate into the middle ear before each round of cisplatin chemotherapy can prevent hearing loss. About 100 adults with head and neck cancer will receive the injection in one ear only, and the treated ear will be compared to the untreated ear. The goal is to protect hearing without affecting the cancer treatment.
