New ER screening aims to stop falls before they happen in seniors
NCT ID NCT05810064
First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a computer system in the emergency room can automatically screen older adults (65+) for their risk of falling in the future. If the system finds someone at high risk, it helps the doctor refer them to a special falls clinic before they go home. Researchers will compare medical records and Medicare claims from before and after the system was put in place to see if it reduces falls and injuries.
