New hope for cancer patients: preventing dry mouth before it starts

NCT ID NCT07476209

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests two ways to prevent dry mouth caused by radiation therapy in head and neck cancer patients. One method uses a tiny camera to clean saliva ducts, and the other uses low-level laser light to boost saliva gland function. 42 patients will be randomly assigned to one of these treatments or standard mouth care, and their symptoms will be tracked for 8 weeks after radiation ends.
