New alert system aims to cut diabetes risk in mental health patients

Summary
This study tests whether a diabetes risk alert can help pharmacists identify and screen younger adults with serious mental illness who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes. The goal is to prevent diabetes by prompting earlier screening and care. About 20,000 participants from Kaiser Permanente Northern California will take part.
