Phone therapy aims to stop depression before it starts in stroke survivors

NCT ID NCT06864715

Summary

This study is testing whether a series of phone or video counseling sessions can prevent full depression in older, low-income adults who have recently had a stroke and are showing early signs of low mood. The program, delivered by trained non-therapists, focuses on helping people re-engage in meaningful activities. Researchers will compare this approach to usual care to see if it reduces depression symptoms and improves quality of life over nine months.
