Can common drugs shield cancer patients from Chemo's painful side effect?

NCT ID NCT07504198

Summary

This study aims to prevent nerve damage, a common and painful side effect of a chemotherapy drug called oxaliplatin, in people with colorectal cancer. Researchers will test if two existing medications—memantine (used for Alzheimer's) and rosuvastatin (a cholesterol drug)—can protect the nerves. The goal is to see if these drugs can help patients complete their cancer treatment with fewer debilitating side effects.
