Spinal injections aim to shield patients from CAR-T's dangerous brain swelling

NCT ID NCT06895473

Summary

This study tests whether injecting three medications directly into the spinal fluid can prevent severe brain-related side effects in patients receiving CAR-T cell therapy for blood cancers. CAR-T therapy can cause dangerous neurological complications in 20-70% of patients, ranging from confusion to seizures. Researchers will give these preventive spinal injections to 26 adult patients shortly after their CAR-T treatment to see if they reduce these serious side effects.
