Shocking bladder trouble away: new hope for spinal injury patients
NCT ID NCT03965299
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests a daily 30-minute nerve stimulation treatment (like a mild electrical pulse on the ankle) to prevent bladder control problems in people with recent spinal cord injury. About 114 participants across Switzerland will receive either real or sham stimulation for 6-9 weeks. The goal is to see if this simple, non-invasive approach can stop dangerous bladder pressure from developing, reducing the risk of kidney damage.
