Coil technique aims to stop deadly aneurysm leaks

NCT ID NCT05665101

Summary

This study tests whether adding metal coils during a common aortic aneurysm stent surgery can prevent a dangerous complication called a type II endoleak. In this leak, blood flows back into the aneurysm sac, which can cause it to grow or rupture. The trial will compare outcomes in 100 patients at high risk for this leak, with half receiving the coils and half receiving standard care.
