Ear gel could save hearing for cancer patients on harsh chemo

NCT ID NCT07281508

Summary

This trial is testing if a gel injected into the middle ear can prevent hearing loss, a common and often permanent side effect of cisplatin chemotherapy. It involves 100 adults with head and neck cancer. Researchers will inject the gel into one ear before each chemo dose and compare its hearing to the patient's untreated ear.
