Scientists test 'Pre-Hab' to stop Ventilator-Induced breathing weakness

NCT ID NCT07427121

Summary

This study is testing if a single session of rehabilitation before using a breathing machine (ventilator) can prevent muscle weakness that makes it hard to breathe independently later. Researchers will compare two methods—breathing muscle training and gentle electrical spine stimulation—against a fake stimulation in healthy adults. The goal is to find a simple way to protect the main breathing muscle so patients can get off the ventilator faster and avoid complications.
