Heart plaque showdown: early intervention or just meds?
NCT ID NCT07569692
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether an early invasive approach (angiogram and possible stenting) plus medication is better than medication alone for people with high-risk coronary plaques found on a CT scan. About 2,500 participants will be followed for 3 years to see which group has fewer heart-related deaths, heart attacks, or urgent procedures. The goal is to find the best way to manage these dangerous plaques and prevent future heart problems.
