Scientists probe how baby formula additives work inside preemies
NCT ID NCT05380401
Summary
This study aims to understand how adding two specific fatty acids (DHA and ARA) to the diet of very premature infants affects their body's internal processes. Researchers will enroll 328 babies born very early and measure changes in blood fats and other biological markers related to development and inflammation. The goal is to gather knowledge about how these common nutritional supplements work, not to test them as a new treatment.
