Scientists map premature baby brains to predict future challenges

NCT ID NCT06052865

Summary

This study aims to understand how the brains of very premature babies grow and develop injuries during their hospital stay. Researchers will use a special, safe MRI machine inside the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to scan babies' brains every two weeks. By tracking these changes, they hope to identify which babies are at higher risk for developmental problems and explore if tailored supportive care during the hospital stay can improve outcomes.
