First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a cervical stitch (cerclage) to vaginal progesterone is better than progesterone alone for preventing preterm birth in pregnant women with a short cervix. About 328 women with a single baby and a cervix shorter than 25 mm will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see which approach helps women stay pregnant longer and improves newborn health.
