Italian hospital tests new tool to protect fragile newborn skin

NCT ID NCT07425418

Summary

This study aims to test an Italian version of a checklist (the Braden QD Scale) designed to predict which hospitalized newborns are most at risk for developing painful pressure sores. Researchers will observe 600 infants in a neonatal intensive care unit to see if the tool works accurately. The goal is to provide nurses with a better way to identify at-risk babies so they can take steps to prevent these skin injuries.
