New scanner spots deadly bedsores 10 days early
NCT ID NCT06127524
Summary
This study is testing a handheld scanner to help nursing home staff find early signs of pressure injuries (bedsores) much sooner than the eye can see. Over 4,700 residents are involved to see if using this scanner during routine checks prompts staff to start preventive care faster. The goal is to prevent these painful and costly wounds, especially for residents with darker skin tones where visual checks are less reliable.
