Gentler breathing switch tested for tiniest babies

NCT ID NCT07251790

Summary

This study compares two common methods doctors use when taking very premature babies off breathing machines. It tests whether starting gentle breathing support through the nose before removing the breathing tube helps babies maintain better oxygen levels afterward, compared to starting the support after tube removal. The goal is to find the safest way to help these fragile infants transition to breathing with less support.
